ABOUT VENTURE CAPITAL CHILE

Strengthening the Chilean Venture Capital Industry

It was at “Chile Day” , London, in December 2022, that CORFO – the Chilean Economic Development Agency – announced the Venture Capital Chile brand. The aim of this initiative is to support the growth of the Chilean VC industry.

Venture Capital Chile will be the gateway for foreign managers and investors who want to be part of the Chilean VC ecosystem, investing in the VC funds which operate in Chile with state support. This funding mechanism will increase the availability of early finance for local startups.

New international actors

Venture Capital Chile will follow the successful path of Start-Up Chile, the world’s first State-owned business accelerator. This CORFO initiative has been active for more than a decade, attracting innovative entrepreneurs from the world over.

This is new step in CORFO’s support for the Chilean Venture Capital Industry. We look forward to the addition of international actors to this industry in the coming years. In addition to finance, we expect these new actors to bring with them good practices and new approaches to fund management; and to contribute networks and business models that will open up new markets for existing funds and for the Chilean businesses in which they invest.

Public-private Alliance

Venture Capital Chile was born from a Public-Private Coordination, involving important local players such as the Chilean Venture Capital Association (ACVC), the Chilean Association of Investment Funds Management (ACAFI), and InvestChile.
